Most article writing jobs are for ongoing work, so applying for one article writing job could easily lead to you having regular work fairly quickly. Thousands of websites every day need fresh content; the web is a fast-moving place and website owners simply can’t let their website become dated, enabling article writers around the world to benefit.

Article writing is certainly one of the main areas I see people actually making GOOD money in. Every month they’re growing their income while working the hours they choose. Article writing is also increasingly done by speaking directly into the PC too, with the latest PCs now having Dragon Dictate built in – so there’s no longer any typing even, making it even faster to do than a couple of years ago. Instead of sitting at the keyboard and typing up an article, article writers are dictating it into their PC – with just a few minor tweaks at the end it couldn’t be any easier.

A lot of article writers are asked to ensure their writing passes copyscape. Copyscape is a piece of software that the hirer will use to check that the article you’ve written is original (you didn’t copy/paste it and steal it from another site). Articles you write must be unique, it is illegal to copy/paste somebody else’s work and pass it off as your own.

Freelance Copywriting Jobs

Copywriting is a very well-paid profession.  Top copywriters can charge literally thousands of pounds just to write one apparently simple sales letter.  However, we all have to start somewhere and that somewhere is quite a long way from copywriting jobs that pay so handsomely!

The job of copywriting is simply writing for things such as web pages, adverts, or even magazine columns. It’s just a bit of a posh word for “writing”. One top tip for copywriting in a lot of cases is to write as though you were talking to a friend, as if you were explaining something to them. This intimate style works well – however, of course, there’ll be other times when it might not be the right style. At first you’ll find you’re doing copywriting jobs for a broad selection of subjects, but over time you’ll start to specialise – whether that’s because you’re being sought out because of something you’ve already written, or maybe you’ve decided to follow a specialist subject because you’ve experience in it, or are simply interested by it.

If you’re interested in learning how to be a copywriter, then you don’t need any special qualifications – a lot of it’s about experience: your life experiences and the experience of writing short and longer pieces. However, to get you started, here’s a list of Free Writing Courses Online

Current Freelance Copywriting Jobs Available:

By the very nature of the work, copywriting jobs are usually undertaken by freelance copywriters.  Most organisations will never have a full-time need to employ people that just sit and write.  Most copywriters, therefore, are freelance copywriters, looking to build up a portfolio of copywriting work from a couple of dozen good clients.

In order to find those good, long-term clients, you might have to kiss a lot of frogs though!  Below are some freelance copywriting jobs that are needed to be done immediately, simplyread the spec and if the copywriting job is something you can do, then contact the advertiser to let them know your rate.

Most copywriters will find that once they’ve done some good work for somebody, that client will contact them in the future for their further requirements.  One strategy to adopt is to do every copywriting job you can, almost at any price, because that gets your work exposed to as many people as possible.  Not only are you building up your portfolio of work to show future potential clients, but you’re increasing the odds of finding those top clients to work for regularly!

The main piece of advice I can give to you is – give it a go. Write something, it doesn’t matter what you write. I’ve taken great inspiration from keeping my writing skills warmed up by using Hubpages where you can write your own interesting articles about anything you like. The writing community there is really supportive and they run quite a lot of little “challenges” that I find invaluable to keeping me motivated. They can even critique your writing, or you can simply lurk and learn!. One great idea is to write about your local area – this is something you know about, but will also need to research a little. I got started when I joined a challenge to write lots of travel articles about my local area, from visitor attractions, to hotels and methods of transport. It was great exercise for practising different writing skills – AND – I not only got paid for that through their affiliation, but I also won $200 in various draws simply by writing something and submitting it!

Why not Try Hubpages Today – it’s free too.

Good luck!
